Through the use of staged photography, this series of photographs explores the social, physical and psychological relationship between the individual and urban space, focusing on notions of conformity and alienation.
Staged photography allows for an interpretation of the real, externalising an individual’s internal state of mind, creating an ambiguous relationship between the psychological and actual reality. Normally occupied spaces are depicted when deserted in order to comment on the feeling of solitude in a world full of people.
