Visitation
In 1061 the Virgin Mary appeared in a field in Norfolk to request that a Saxon woman build her a house. Over 900 years have passed and the Virgin hasn’t revisited, leaving behind the tiny shrine village of Walsingham to settle her affairs, wait for her return and carry on with life in the spiritual off-season between October and April. This series explores the tension between expectation and absence in a community defined by religious mythology.
