This project aims on developing a new South-East Asia oriented campaign together with Empower Foundation – the largest NGO in the world run by- and for sex workers. The Empower 2010 Calendar is part of it, and it will be distributed widely around Thailand to promote human rights, sex workers’ rights and challenge stereotypical representations Thai sex workers are subjected to in global media. As a result of our encounter, a book has been produced to provide written accounts by Empower activists and invite the viewers to participate in a broader discussion on the nature of sex work, sex tourism, the role of media and legislation.
