In the Scene
The photographs are motivated by the mimetic nature of the theatrical within constructed environments. The chosen locations are artificial perceptions of reality.
I have attempted to re-contextualise the sets, isolating my specific focus, presenting the set within a different context, removing any sense of performance, which is the intended function of these sets.
I am drawn to the functionality of objects within a set, the intended function has been removed. The new function is merely to become artifice in order to emphasis the artificial reality, aiding in its illusion.
