The idealised concept of a loved one, formed in childhood and retained unaltered in adult life.
My mum and dad have been separated for over 15 years now. For most of my life I have lived with my mother, but strangely I seem to identify more with my father. As I come to the stage in my life where I begin to depart from dependency on my parents, I have felt it to be important to recognise the nature of my relationship with them. Through the process of photographic dialogue I have established not only how I feel about them, but also become more aware of how they respond to me. The result of this process presents itself as a web of a narrative, revealing the foundations of my own identity.
