The Green Line (Israel)
‘The Green Line’ refers to the 1949 armistice lines established between Israel and its neighbouring countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria) after the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. ‘The Green Line’ (which was drawn on the map of Israel and Palestine) not only separated Israel from these countries but also from territories it would later capture in the 1967 'Six-Day War'. The landscapes in this series are situated along this line, close to the perimeter of the southern half of the West Bank and trace the invisible through the rural landscape.
