An Exchange of Authorship
'Wabi Sabi' is the means by which the Japanese people apprehend the essence of an object. It is a recurring concept within Japanese art and culture. The photograph manifests the photographer's perception of the totality of the event. However the viewer's response is dictated by their own subjective experience and knowledge, and the authorship of the overall event is exchanged.
